Save the date: Leader Hoyer has announced that the full House will vote on the Jan. 6 committee's criminal contempt report for Steve Bannon on Thursday, October 21.

@asvaidya @1n1m1 @JoshMalina The American Federation of Teachers and the NCJW have materially indistinguishable outlooks on Israel (pro-two states, anti-occupation, pro-coexistance--basically standard establishment lib views). It is no accident that Sunrise targets only the latter. https://t.co/uJcOoiKho9

Rep. Perlmutter to Jordan and Gaetz: “I’ve never heard such an effort to obfuscate the question .. This Congress is within it’s full rights to demand the truth from Mr. Bannon, to demand that he appear. If he chooses, Mr. Gaetz, to plead the 5th Amend, that’s his prerogative.”

The House Rules Committee has advanced the resolution recommending Steve Bannon be held in contempt of Congress for refusal to comply with the Jan. 6 committee subpoena. It was a 9-4 party line vote.

Matt Gaetz now testifying at House Rules Committee in opposition to holding Steve Bannon in contempt for defying subpoena in Jan. 6 probe. His testimony follows Jim Jordan’s. “All of this is ridiculous,” Gaetz said

Jan. 6 committee releases:
- Letter from Bannon attorney requesting a postponement
- Letter from Thompson rejecting that request
- WH letter calling Bannon's executive privilege arguments "not justified"

Liz Cheney: "Mr. Bannon's and Mr. Trump's privilege arguments do, however, appear to reveal one thing: They suggest that President Trump was personally involved in the planning and execution of January 6th, and this committee will get to the bottom of that."

The three dogs have been stranded for weeks in an abandoned yard covered with volcanic ash on the island of La Palma.

The drone operator will have just four minutes to lure a dog to the net, and another four minutes to fly it out 2/5

A Spanish drone operator received permission to try to rescue three emaciated dogs trapped near a volcano in the Canary Islands, by catching them with a remote-controlled net and flying them out over a stream of lava https://t.co/WCqadr4IfJ 1/5

They have been fed by drones dropping packages of food, but until now no one has been able to figure out how to rescue them. Helicopters are banned from flying to the area because of hot gas that can damage their rotors 3/5

So am I correct in thinking that the COVID vaxx is going to soon be approved for school age kids and there is absolutely no guidance yet planned for that? What, oh, what could go wrong.

11. The storms set in motion by the bomb cyclone will come one after the other, and by next week will begin bringing rainfall as far south as the Los Angeles area and possibly into San Diego: https://t.co/hwlLxVsWIv

9. And there will be snow. Up to 2 feet could fall over the highest elevations of the Sierra Nevada Mountains Sunday into Monday alone, and snow totals through next Wednesday could top 6 feet in some high elevation places ❄️ https://t.co/hwlLxVsWIv

6. Seattle is one place that will be seeing some significant rain, something it needs after enduring its driest spring and summer in 77 years: https://t.co/OeMjJk4pqf

“We are rapidly running out of time as gerrymandering and voter suppression is happening as we speak and as we dither. Unless we restore the Senate’s ability to make laws, this situation will be dire.”-@brianschatz

You know what’s more radical than abolishing the filibuster? Watching 19 states pass voter suppression laws and doing absolutely nothing to stop it.

Yes, it was a dark day for democracy

Why not at least allow debate on #TheFreedomToVoteAct?
